The Caribbean International Network (CIN) has announced the results of the AC Neilsen Media Research Telephone Coincidental for 2004, which targeted the Caribbean populations in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.
The Nielsen report showed that CIN had the fourth highest ratings when measured against seven major broadcast channels, including the major networks ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, BET, UPN, and CNN. CIN also recorded increased viewership, with 40 percent of the persons polled reporting that they watched CIN, up from 32.9 last year.
The numbers show that CIN is tops with the important New York Caribbean audience. The results reveal a significant viewer loyalty and audience growth. CIN conducts annual audience studies to test the success of its programmes and to provide its valued advertisers with proof of the company's performance.
Said CIN CEO Stephen Hill; "We are extraordinarily pleased with the ratings. Even against the popular "March Madness" basketball games on CBS, our performances was very strong. Without exception, CIN is strong and growing."
Nielsen Media Research is the premier audience measurement organisation in North America. It is the exclusive provider of ratings for all US networks and local television stations.
CIN is the only regularly scheduled television service for New York's island community. Started ten years ago with a single half-hour, it now provides a full menu of news, sports, drama and music programmes created exclusively for the rapidly growing and youthful Caribbean population. Each weekend CIN airs an entire selection of information and entertainment programmes created exclusively for the Caribbean audience. |
